The good weather of southern Africa and world class golf courses attract players from all over the world.
An added attraction is that some courses are in wildlife areas and it is not unusual to find warthogs or antelope on the fairways.
In Zimbabwe the Elephant Hills course has been known to have, appropriately, elephants feeding in the rough.
In South Arica there a number of tough links courses which are made more challenging when the wind blows. There are courses designed by golfing legends Gary Player, Ernie Els, Lee Trevino and Greg Norman.
Most courses accept guests and pre-arranged touring parties have the pleasure of playing courses of a standard that elsewhere in the world are usually reserved for the select few.
